Scottish Beef Stew My Favourite Scottish Recipe

                                 Beef Stew

Scottish Beef Stew is a hearty, comforting dish that’s perfect for cold days. To make this traditional favorite, start by cutting beef into bite-sized cubes and seasoning with salt and pepper.

In a large pot, heat oil and brown the beef until caramelized for rich flavor. Remove the beef, then sauté chopped onions, carrots, and celery in the same pot until softened. Add minced garlic for extra depth. Return the beef to the pot, sprinkle in some flour, and stir well to thicken the stew.

Pour in beef stock, a splash of red wine or ale, and add bay leaves and thyme for authentic Scottish flavor. Let it simmer on low heat for 2–3 hours until the meat is tender and the sauce thickens. Serve hot with creamy mashed potatoes or crusty bread for a delicious, warming Scottish meal.
